Access for All – Stevens Memorial Library $21,725
While Ashburnham and the surrounding communities have a robust creative population, there are many barriers that prevent this population from thriving. This project will focus on supporting the various needs of the local creative community. Working with community partners, Stevens Memorial Library in Ashburnham will develop a hands-on programming curriculum that features local expertise from a variety of creative disciplines. Programming will include workshops, lectures, readings, a human library, and exhibitions. It will use some funding to acquire and develop resources that allow community members to explore different crafts, mediums, and perspectives. The Library will also develop a thriving gallery space that fosters intergenerational creative community gatherings, relationship building, and exposure to local artists’ work.
