LSTA Direct Grants to Libraries

Massachusetts uses LSTA funding to provide libraries with direct grants to meet the needs of their community. There was one LSTA direct grant awarded to libraries in the Ninth Congressional District in 2022 totaling $10,000.

Below are examples of direct grant funded projects in the Ninth Congressional District:

• Plymouth Public Library $10,000

  Digging into Permaculture at the Plymouth Public Library will provide a permanent space for the community to explore their interests in gardening and sustainability. The Library will create a multipurpose programming area in its backyard that will include raised beds with edible gardens and a space for pollinator plants. A diverse slate of immersive and interactive programming aimed at various demographics in the community will be offered throughout the project.
